Money that stays at home

Build your own portfolio of merchants. For the payments they take, Mo.one sends you a reward every month. There is no cap on what you earn and the portfolio is yours under contract.

Before you ask

No, we are not multilevel

The phrase passive income turns our stomach as much as it does yours. Which makes it all the more of a shame when somebody files us under it before looking at what we actually do.

The simplest answer

We are not a pyramid. We are a digital franchise supervised by the Czech National Bank.

You build your own portfolio of merchants and get a share of the payments made in it. The money the rewards are calculated from flows through the ČNB payment system.

The money comes from payments, not from joining fees +
You get the reward from payments your merchants actually take from their customers, and the merchant pays less on them than they paid for cards. In a pyramid, the person joining pays, and the product is only a pretext.
We have an end · 256 of 998 licences taken +
There are 998 licences and after that there will be none. A pyramid needs an endless supply of new people or it collapses. We are looking forward to selling out.
You do not have to bring anyone in +
If you bring nobody else in and simply set payments up with merchants around you, you keep earning. And if you want to, it is an ordinary affiliate link mo.one/?ref=your-name, the kind everyone knows from anywhere on the internet today.
So why did we go this way anyway? +
A payment network cannot be built from head office. Either it is everywhere or it works nowhere, and that means having enough people across the country who understand it and have a reason to bring it in where they live. We knew we were asking for exactly this question. But building it differently just so nobody would ask seemed worse to us. Patrik goes into it further down the page.
Who we are

A Czech payment institution

Mo.one a.s. is licensed by the Czech National Bank and builds payments that go straight from account to account, with no intermediaries. We want to take payment technology further. A physical card that lights up a dragon's eyes on a picture when you tap it on a terminal is not innovation as far as we are concerned.

Payment straight from the account

The money goes from account to account, with no card companies in the middle.

A licence from the ČNB

The nine largest banks

With each one we went through what does not work and by when it will be fixed.

0.49 % of turnover

The price for a merchant, for the first 1000 businesses. After that always 0.78 % at most. No terminal rental, no fees for statements.

Just tap your phone

The guest taps their phone on the NFC tag and the money reaches the merchant.

People let a neighbour in

A business is convinced by a neighbour, not by a salesperson who drove over from Prague for an hour.

You are paid for results

Not for hours sat through. A franchisee answers to themselves.

No stockrooms of goods

No recruitment meetings and no motivational weekends. We are not multilevel.

up to 25 billion Kč a year
leaves the Czech Republic in card fees

It used to be a necessary tax on convenience. Today a payment can go directly, with no intermediaries. That money belongs to Czech business owners and their customers.

Who we are · fees

Where that fee goes

1 The issuing bank

A fee for issuing the card

The bank that issued the customer's card takes 0.2 % of every payment. With business cards up to 1.6 %. For issuing the card and giving the client the means to pay in a shop.

2 The card scheme

A guarantee banks can now handle themselves

Visa or Mastercard guarantee that a card payment really reaches the right account. That costs around 0.3 % of the payment on average. Thanks to instant payments and open banking, banks can now do this directly between themselves. We are not saying cards should disappear. They are still needed for payments from foreign customers. It is just that an ordinary Czech payment no longer needs that step in between.

3 The processor with the terminal

The only part that can be negotiated

The third part is taken by whoever supplied the merchant with the terminal and settlement. It is often calculated on the MIF++ model, that is, bank and scheme fees plus the processor's margin on top. A card therefore commonly comes to around 1.3 % of turnover in the Czech Republic. When a merchant accepts cards with us, Mo.one is that processor. But even we cannot influence the first two parts.

A Mo.one payment

The first two fees are gone

The payment goes straight from account to account. No terminal rental, no fees for statements. That is why we can take the price where cards cannot go.

Why we went this way
„Hardly anyone can afford a global brand's franchise. We built our partnership so that anyone who can work with the people around them can start a business of their own. A hunter is not our employee - they are a partner. They do not sit out paid hours - they build their own portfolio. And that makes an enormous difference to how much you enjoy the work. It makes sense both ways: the better Mo.one does, the easier it is for a hunter to sell. And the better hunters do, the stronger Mo.one is. A shared interest, no magic."

What you will do

You visit businesses around you

A franchisee talking to café staff
01

You show the numbers

You drop in on a business and show them plainly how much they pay for accepting cards today and how much they would pay with Mo.one. No pressure. Either it makes sense or it does not.

A franchisee showing the owner the app on a phone
02

You help with the switch

When it does make sense, you take the merchant through registration right there and help them set payments up.

03

You keep looking after them

The merchant has your number, not a call centre line. When they need something, they deal with a person they know. A happy portfolio is your whole business.

What they get out of it

We are not going to promise you numbers

Anyone can promise earnings and it means nothing. Let us put it differently. Every payment made at a merchant carries a fee. With cards, a large part of it leaves the Czech Republic and you get nothing from it, because somebody else decides about it. With us, part of that fee goes to you. Every month, for as long as payments run at that merchant.

You do not get paid for turning up somewhere. You get paid because something works.

Why we are proud of what we do

Nobody here earns by leading somebody else on

When someone is paid by the hour, it pays them for the work to take a long time. We all know building sites that drag on for years because of that logic. When they are paid for the result, it is the other way round: it pays them to do the work well and quickly, because from that moment it starts bringing something in. The merchant saves, the franchisee has a share in it working, we have a growing network.

And something personal on top. We do it for money too, of course - we feed families like everyone else. But also because we want something decent to be left behind us for our children. That is why, alongside payments, we are preparing things like a secure chat or a fair marketplace. It may sound naive. We think this is exactly how payment technology should be built.
